Old school styled Syrah that was withdrawn and grumpy on opening. A couple hours in a decanter helped it shed some of the fresh earth and iron layers to reveal some sanguine red fruit, but the overall impression is a savory, broody wine. The last glass was best, however this appeals to different palate preferences than mine.
