Phillips Hill
Anderson Valley Gewürztraminer
Been knocking Gerwurz all year, but clearly it just needed the right partner. Was divine with gingery daal & buttery paratha bread. A floral, fruity (pear, apple), peppery number from my former neighbors in Philo. Enough acid to balance out the variety’s oiliness, fruitiness, overt perfume, alc (13.5%) and suggestion of sweetness. Slight lift from mild effervescence (dissolved CO2). Residual tartrates hanging out at the bottom of the glass.

Dec 15th, 2019Great, casual summer Gewurtz. Floral and a bit steely (is that a word?).
