This Chardonnay has rounded sugars, a peach flower nose, marzipan with strong fruit on the palate, nutty toasted pecan finish that's not cloying at all. A really surprising wine!

Piece of Texas wine history here. Still drank nice but it is on the fast path downward. Nice work Bobby Cox!

Tricked everyone who tasted it. No one thought it was Texas High Plains AVA. No one even thought this was Cabernet. Had lots of guesses that were off Cabernet varieties. This wine is a little bit Dusty, a little bit leathery, a little bit of raisin and sweet on the front. Someone said amarone in style. I think that was probably the best descriptor of the nose and front of this wine. Very red fruit, with a hint of sweet. It opened up fairly nicely over an hour or so. Was served in a decanter to be a blind tasting. Really nice, and definitely shows you how a powerhouse Texas wine producer can make a wine with such complicated characteristics. At 15 years of age, this one is very impressive.
