Definitely some age and grip here, but so fresh and youthful. Blinded, I actually identified this as a champagne BdB, but in the back of my head I was honestly baffled. It was precise with screaming acidity and off-the-charts salinity, yet the richness and textures weren’t exactly what you’d expect in a champagne. Full of ripe lemons, salt, white stone fruits, and some apple skins, caramel, nuts, and herbs. Made sense upon reveal. A riesling! It’s crazy that there’s just a hint of richness from age, so I can’t imagine how austere this was as a base wine. Interesting wine, but a little off balance to me.

Not sure where to rate this for me but a lot of dill and salinity that was all I really got from it even as it opened up but it was nonetheless very interesting
