Okay! Father’s Day. Get the bbq out. Cook some ribs!! What better than a cheek tantalizing, jammy, Shiraz from Barroso Valley!! This one took some time to come together. Rich extracts of dark cherry, figs and mulberry. Unfortunately the vanilla, probably from the American oak, was overwhelming and threw the wine off balance. It took nearly three hours before it settled down and became fully integrated. At that time I was able to pick of the fine and potent tannins that gave it depth and character.

Dried dark, tart cherry and strawberry soaked in oak with penetrating notes of vanilla. Happy birthday Tammy! 🍷🍷
