Back home after our Victorian road trip through the Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland. A blend of 64% Shiraz, 21% Grenache, 15% Mataro. This Is one of the very few Penfolds reds left in unblended component form during barrel maturation. Red and black cherry, touch of pepper and also raspberry from the Grenache. A typical long living Penfolds red - drinking well at 10 years with another 10 years in front of it.

Kicking goal at 17 years old.
A culmination of vine pedigree, cork selection, proper cellaring, and decanted at the right time.
It evolved for over 3 hours.
A credit to Penfolds ability to make even lower tier wines with substance.
Soft tannin, earth, spice, surprising fruit!
