A friend of a friend of my wife asked me try to try this new production Pinot they are making. This is produced & bottled by Pellegrini Bros but is a new Pinot called P:4. Sour mid red fruits, raspberry candy and red florals on the nose. The palate is candied, ripe, juicy; black raspberries, black cherries, strawberries, cherries, cola, soft subtle sweet spices, cinnamon, just a hint of vanilla, limestone, soft crushed brown volcanic minerals, red fresh florals, nice acidity, good mouth presence, good balance and long shinny fruit finish. Drinks well very young. Surpassing my initial expectations. A wine to acquire and a wine to pay close attention going forward. $65 from the winery. It's a crossroads of CA Pinot & Burgundian style with a dominating CA side. 13.8% on the alcohol which is fairly reasonable in today's CA wine environment.
