Still has some tannins providing structure, full somewhat reserved body with good clean finish

Mega lush, opulent, Syrah. Drink em if you got em. You won't be bummed.

CVed 2/10/18 comp of Pax Donelan Syrah. Interestingly the nose more earthy and spicy than the Donelan and Reyaud, with prominent dark fruits. palate is full and richly textured and firm. Long finish. Nice wine.

A dark inky maroon, the '05 Pax Syrah 'The Knob - Alder Springs Vineyard' offers a glass-filling bouquet of brambly black raspberry, bacon fat, lavender and tobacco scents. The mouth is then filled with a liqueur-like concentration of jammy black fruits and baking spices. A long penetrating finish with some eucalyptus undertones is the final reward. It could be easily be mistaken for a Cornas in a blind tasting.
