Pax Mahle Wines
The Hermit Syrah
Old world philosophy and Sonoma terroir. Low brix, whole clusters, and cool climate. All things I love. Tasty now, but will evolve for a few more years.

Nov 20th, 2017It’s in such a great place right now. Nose jam packed with fresh dark fruit, palate is already showing some beautiful secondary development. Earthy and lots of iron and smoky fatty bacon.

Mar 12th, 2015Baked fig, gamey dried meat, slight pepper. Good mouthfeel, slightly austere but complex. Needs time or air.

Dec 31st, 2014It ain't the Northern Rhone doppelganger that I was promised, but still plenty to love in this 2010 bottle.
