Spend a good three days in Burgundy. Never quite understood where the fuss was all about with these wines…. Boy, now I do!!! Had no idea these wines could be so intensely fresh, minerally, concentrated fresh fruit of currants, raspberry and cherry, strong structured while elegant and complex on a lingering finish. This particular 1st Cru from the Cote de Nuits region represents all of that. And yes, I am talking about a Pinot Noir… who would have thought. Perfect grape for this region as it grabs and expresses the unique terroirs so well. Astonishing how dramatically different one section in a vineyard (climat) expresses from another just meters away. Explore and enjoy!

Very nice surprise in the tasting at Patriarch. Great fruit, acidity and balance.
