Honeymoon Barolo purchase from the winery last fall... seductive nose of violets, cherry liquor, tobacco, beechwood, clove, and vanilla bean. Layered and expressive. Mouthfeel is soft, with a rich Serralunga tannins. Cherry notes pop, but this wine is wrapped with black pepper and toasty flavors. Finish is long, dry and well balanced. Aged with clay urns following French barrique. Paired perfectly with filets and scalloped potatoes. Drink now or in the next 10 years.
