Sublime. Initially, it's difficult for me to say whether this wine sees oak, but I love it because of that.
On the nose, I detect nuts, toast and a hint of barrel toast. The palette is completely delineated. Nectarines and tense citrus fruits are evident. The wine has a wonderfully light mouthfeel. Acidity is still bright, and the finish just keeps going. At its zenith now, but should continue to evolve for another 5 - 7 years or so.

Jul 8th, 2016Butterscotch nose, thick overly extracted body that is too cloying, heavy & sweet, finish long. Best if served extremely cold

Sep 17th, 2019A clear yellow, the '04 Pahlmeyer Chardonnay 'Jayson' Napa County, still had an intense nose of pineapple, orange blossom and almonds. The fruit was not as noticeable in the mouth, which exhibited more mineral and biscotti flavors. Crisp minerality on the medium finish with a sweet butterscotch aftertaste.
