Ribera del Duero Selección Especial Tempranillo

Decanting this wine is a must. On the beginning it had a musty damp smell, almost like spoiled. After about 30 minutes it opened up with more tobacco and mocha notes. Fruit forward smooth and light mouthfeel balanced with a dry finish and subtle tannins.

Even better the next day

Best Tempranillo that I have ever had. Super dark garnet color, ages very well. Fruit forward, light on tannins. That was before decanting. 2006 vintage. Decanted for 30 minutes and I thought it tasted better without the decanting. The fruit taste fresher on the first tasting.

Absolutely delicious, well balance, complex wine.

Think Mocha: Tobacco. Coffee. Licorice. Very interesting Duero. Decantation is a must. Give it 1+ hour.

Dark, rich and spicy

Opens up nicely. Very solid. No hint of 'turning gray' 9 years later.

Meaty with dark fruit and smooth mouth feel.

Wow! Honestly I have to say I was sharing a bottle with a friend...and..ummm..when it came time for a refill...lets just say most of it went into my wine glass:)
