Another Dave Phinney offering, a blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah & Syrah with aromas of dusty berry fruits with sweet pepper spice notes. On the palate rich blackberry fruit with oak, herb and currant tones. Well integrated on fine tannins, lingering ending with earthy mineral character. Very nice!

So this was huge. 2 hours later was drinking nice but still needed more time. I will wait a couple of years to open the next one but this is certainly a good wine.

Excellent Zinfandel blend from Orin Swift. The backstory of this wine is almost as great as the wine. Non-compete in a contract from selling of a vineyard, didn’t allow Orin Swift to produce a Zinfandel for 8 years. Hence 8 years in the desert. Just spectacular on the nose with hints of blackberry and cherry. On the palette it is enticing and young, bountiful fruit. Would probably benefit from another year or two in the bottle, but is spectacular now.

Dave Phinney of Prisoner fame. Taste great even now - will be pretty special after s few years.

He’s baaaack! Second Zinfandel Blend for Dave Phinney after his non-compete clause expired. Intense aromas of wild raspberries, figs and black pepper along with hints of fennel seed and Forrest Floor. Lush fruit on the pallet (blackberry, currant and plums) along with hints of minerals and fresh herbs. Tannins are in balance with the acidity. Interesting blend.

Deep red color. Black fruit and vanilla nose. Black cherry, cherry and other red fruit to taste. Smooth, slightly sweet but not jammy. A little leather, pepper and oak to finish. Perfect match to the Christmas roast leg of lamb and the first Christmas present I used 😀!
