La Croix du Verre Crozes-Hermitage Syrah

Mid black and red fruits, smoke, grilled meats, leather, violets, spice. Decent wine ordering it by the glass.

Blood, cherries, earth, violets, olives, and peppercorns. Med body, med + acid, finish a little short but clean. Food friendly

Olives, fresh ripe berry jam, rosemary, sage, grilled lamb. Frankly, awesome.

Great with steak

Noticeable raisininess and a little too much oak. Maybe it is too young.

Pepper and pastrami. Classic Crozes

2011. Leather & smoke over deep cherries. Some fig, stone, and integrated tannins.

Forest floor, earth, spice.

Aromas of black and white pepper, green tobacco leaves, dried herbs, orange peel, and blackberries fill this complex, satisfying Syrah. Its gamy character conceals its slight thinness and moderately short finish for a wine. A good wine, but a bit overpriced for the quality.
