Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon

Time for my Friday's Cabernet fix. This time it's a tasty Sonoma County Cabernet.

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, cedar, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, smoke, chocolates, mocha, coffee, leather, caramel and peppercorn.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, black plums, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, light vegetables, earth and herbs.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.

This Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon is drinking very nicely now, with an enjoyable mouthfeel, nice complexity and balance.

Good by itself or with food. Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and show some tannins, but enjoyable enough right out of the bottle. A very typical (and enjoyable) Sonoma Cabernet.

Peaking now and it won't be as good for long, so if you have one, drink up.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of cheeses and meats.

I think I got this at Costco lol. I liked it.

Full bodied, needs to breathe

Fruit is solid- definitely reminiscent of a good Bordeaux

Well rounded cab with mild tannins. Had the 2014 in summer 2021 so it had been aged in the bottle for about 5 years or so.

Pretty good

Drier than I typically like.

a little tangy but good with a steak.
