864 Single Block Release Guerin Vineyard Pinot Noir

Notes of cherry strawberry and varnish. Medium- intensity. Light to medium weight. Lacking in power. When decanting no sediment at all - drained the bottle! A little disappointing overall with poor QPR.

Light to medium ruby with tawny rim - very Burgundian in colour. Sappy earthy and more old world than new. A nice counterpoint to the majority of NZ Pinots tasted last week, in Wellington, particularly the fuller bodied Otago styles.

Some sappy berry varnishy notes on nose. Light to medium weight palate with lingering intensity. More Burgundian than New World. 2012 vintage.

Raspberries, cherry cola, violets and smoke. Well balanced with good complexity.

Red fruit, mushroom, forest floor, licorice

100% whole berry 9 months lees grey vol soils

This is impressive. Pure fruit, great balance, deep enticing aromas, wonderful texture. I'd love to see this with a few years behind it but tts drinking well enough now.
