Dark ruby in color with a short purplish rim.
Light nose of blueberries, cherries, currants, oak, smoke, plums, metals, peppercorn, spices, earth, leather, coffee, vanilla and licorice.
Medium plus in body and jammy, with medium plus acidity and some legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, raspberries, earth, peppercorn, leather, smoke, burned plastic(?), chocolates, mocha, dark coffee and spices.
Nice length on the finish with soft tannins and black pepper.
An enjoyable Zinfandel from Lodi, California. Nicely balanced with lots of black fruits. Better than the 2012 vintage, as this is more balanced. An above average red wine with a spicy soft and rounded mouthfeel.
There is something in the aftertaste that I couldn't put my finger on, that I didn't like, but otherwise, a good sipping wine and will also work well at parties.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a burger and Sauteed Broccolini.

2014 vintage. Medium bodied, jammy, not overly sugary as this style can get. Touch of rhubarb and leather. Soft tannins. Perhaps it's the surprise Petite Sirah which doesn't appear on the label that lightens the profile. 13.95% ABV.
