This is a new imprint from Walla Walla‘s Northstar winery, aimed at a slightly lower price point and presumably younger demographic. It is aged in concrete eggs, giving us the excuse for the name. The wine itself is superlative Washington claret; rich tannins, complex structure from that wonderful Washington terroir, and restrained oak. The fruits expressed are red currant, bing cherry, and some mocha to the finish. The label makes me want to request you all to “excuse me while I kiss the sky”! 😹🎆
