Loads of pure fruit here. If you enjoy your Napa cabs with more fruit before they go to secondary notes, I’d say it’s time to enjoy this one. It’s beginning to show some muddled fruit profiles, with blackberries, black cherry, and currant but it also has a nice graphite note. Savory in terms of it having a charcoal like note but not meaty. Mid palate is dense and soft. Very nice.

On the nose, mulberries, black currants, blackberries, blueberries, anise, dark earth violets and perfumed dark florals. Body is leaner than previous vintages I've had. Dusty medium tannins, blueberries, blackberries, mulberries, dark cherries, dark chocolate, mocha, gritty chalky minerals, light caramel & vanilla, Tannins get gluier with black currants & some tarry notes on the longer finish. Barrel tasted the 2016 vintage at the Nickel & Nickel Entrecôte. Photos of the environment they set up for their cellar tasting and the lunch served on the grounds afterwards.

Yogi Berra again - an old but new friend delivers again - people say this was nickel and nickel years and I agree - not bought since 2010 but after drinking (after only one hour decant) I have to try 2013 and beyond - for the price it is very worthy of really nice SMILES!!!!!
