It's time for my Friday's Cabernet fix. This week it's one from California.
Dark ruby in color with a purple rim.
A typical nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, plums, wood, licorice, spices, dark chocolates, vanilla, earth, coffee, tobacco and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, oak, black cherries, plums, vanilla, licorice, cloves, spices, graphite, earth, peppercorn, leather, tobacco and chocolates.
Medium on the finish with firm tannins, spices and tangy raspberries.
This is a nice Cabernet from the North Coast AVA. Nice and balanced with mild complexity and a great mouthfeel.
Needs 30 minutes to open up properly and show some tannins, but good right out of the bottle.
14% alcohol by volume.
