Awesome sierra foothills zin producer. Calaveras county is putting out some great wine. Newsome- zin. Prospect 772-rhone. Forlorn hope- pre-prohibition varietals.

Very tasty sierra foothills zin. Newsome Harlow has the best wine of the Murphys downtown tasting rooms. They make a nice series of single vineyard zins that go for just under 40 bucks. They also make a shake ridge and kirschenman (turley vineyard). Of the calaveras county wines, I'd put newsome up there with prospect 772 and forlorn hope.
