Scaggs Vineyard Counoise
Very very light ruby, translucent, with thin edges. Beautiful aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, plenty of floral aromatics, and a dash of black pepper. This is a dainty, delicate little gem from Mount Veeder and that mountain fruit shows. Unlike the Rhône version, this is dominated by the fruit with the more earthy characteristics being secondary. Bright red fruits, green vegetation, dried plums, and stone minerality on the palate. This is an outstanding wine, one that I could open almost everyday.
