Light purple red, very good clarity. Raspberry, blueberry and prune notes in nose. Cherry, raspberry, strawberry and blueberry flavors, slightly lactic finish with some soft seed bitterness. Slightly tart overall, but tasty. 4078 cases made.

Initially questionable, yet eventually transformative. Elegant red fruits, some VA, but impressive considering its age.

Had this last weekend in Philo around the corner from the source. Starts out with sharp acidity. Smooths out into an elegant wine filled with bright crisp fruit , touch of earth and forest after hours open.

Sep 2nd, 2019Purple-red, very good clarity, light-to-moderate pigment extraction. Butter, blackberry and mint notes in nose. Blackberry flavor with cherry undertone, rounded mouthfeel, butter, lactic, mint and tart blueberry aftertaste. Later, blackberry with an undercurrent of black currant aftertaste emerges, replacing tart blueberry. Some skin astringency, slight seed bitterness. Lovely complexity and varietal expression.

Sep 25th, 2018This pairing is in honor of my late hero Anthony Bourdain and of the (last ever?) G7 summit being held in Quebec City. I'm pairing this Cali Pinot noir (with rising tariffs in many foreign markets, buy it before prices escalate) with a little light reading for Trump's team on trade (Douglas Irwin is a star trade economist; this is his newly published 800-page history of US trade policy)
But enough pedantry - on, on to the wine: moderately extracted, purple in color, slightly cloudy. Raspberry and hedge notes in nose. Red berry, tutti frutti flavors with a hint of mint, later raspberry, cherry and blueberry, some seed tannins and barrel smoke in mouth. Moderate astringency and seed bitterness in finish. Light citric-lactic tartness in aftertaste. Give it time to open, complex in its crafting but tasty.

Medium purple red. Mushroom, floral, wood and raspberry notes in nose. Strawberry, raspberry and sour cherry Kool Aid in mouth, mild lightweight astringency on finish. Licorice and mint notes in aftertaste. Wonderful flavor profile overall, allow 30 minutes plus to aerate.

Blueberry flavor has real length. 3472 cases made. Another winner, I keep getting the new vintages and enjoying them
