Not your Spanish Tempranillo. It’s very rich, ripe, sweet, lots of baking spices, ripe blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, black licorice, leather, dry stems, lots of caramel, sweet rich earth with stones, lavender and violets. The body is thick and rich with velvety round tannins. The finish is big and fruit driven.

Initially didnt like this as much as 2015 or 2017 because it was so tight but it’s tasting great now. For MW, I prefer their tempranillo (along with the merlot and cab franc) over the cab.

I pour here so I won’t rate these wines. But they continually surprise. Poured it in a blind flight tonight with biale palisades petite, martini napa cab, quivet kenefick syrah, and rivers marie calistoga cab and this was jennie’s favorite. The aromatics and the plushness combo is pretty nice. They got a nice black friday sale going on right now.

Of 2015-2017 vintages, I think 2017 was best for Livermore. The 17s remind me more of the 15s at murrieta’s well in that they are rich and plush. 16s were much more reserved for me.
