Tastes a bit like pipe tobacco (especially in finish), anise, black tea and ripe red berries (some spiciness in the finish like black pepper). Smells a bit like a port with a touch of pepper. Substantial acid makes it taste a bit tart. I would describe it as falling somewhere between semi-sweet and off-dry. Medium body. I don't think I'm much of a Pinot person, but this is decent for what it is. Perhaps a tad sweet for me.
