The Porongurup 2014 Pinot has a pretty ruby red colour to it with a vibrant bright red sheen. Perfumed nose of violets, plums and strawberries. Nice oomph of flavour on the palate. Elegant and well structured with plentiful berries and acidity in the finish plus a touch of smokiness. RRP $22

Jun 22nd, 2016Mount Trio are located in the Porongurup sub-region of the Great Southern. I was recently sent this bottle to give it a whirl and here's what I thought..
Firstly Mr. Spittoon loooved it! I struggled to get more than 1 glass! It's a light garnet on the eye with candied fruits, cherries, pine cones and vanilla on the nose. The palate is light but mid-palate you're hit with an oomph of flavour - cherries, peppermint and a subtle creamy tannin structure. Pinot and summer, you're a match!
