Great up front with a touch of fruit still intact but the finish was marked with iodine and must.

1978. So bright and fresh. Could go another decade.

The '67 definitely brought its A game. Fresh and vibrant considering the age. Just great as a whole

'67 still lively with nice density and richness. Fairly deep red color that fades to and orange/gold rim. Forest floor, leather and red fruit aromas followed by dried cherry, rhubarb and porcini mushroom on the palate. Great cut and lift.

Double decanted. Initial cherry notes are soon overwhelmed by cinnamon, leather and a slight tinny expression. Excellent color.

This was a Christmas gift from Raina, and as she leaves tomorrow for a 5-month gig at Busch Gardens, we thought it fitting to open and toast. The nose has that soy-saucey quality that old wine often gets, as well as a dirty, musty aroma. The color is extremely light, and very brown. Almost like the color of tea. Thin in body, but surprisingly vibrant on the palate for being nearly 50 years old, with good acid, a whisper of tannins and even some red fruit. Always fun to try really old stuff like this, especially from such a storied wine region.

Shockingly youthful. Strawberry twister and grandma'a spice cabinet. Held up for the whole meal.
