Nice full soft body. Fruits are round ruby creamy and lush. There's nearly no bite in this 13. Tannins are full but round and easy on the palate. Blackberries, black plum, dark cherries, blueberries, oak is done just right, rich black moist soil, minerals are very relaxed. Acidity is dead on and finish is long and beautiful.

It's hard to believe there's not more Merlot in this with how smooth it is. Succulent black fruit with a hint of barrel smoke and earth. Lovely balance and purity. A beast now and will age gloriously for years to come. Happy 27th to me!

Holiday wines continue. Excellent wine drinking well right now. Bright red fruit — plums and berries. Hint of cinnamon and licorice on the finish. Full bodied with silky smooth tannins. This could continue to improve over the next 3 to 5 years.

This is great wine. The 2010 MT, odd year, is one of my favorite wines of the past 5 years and I was hoping for a similar experience from an epic vintage. The 2013 had everything, nose, purity of fruit, balance, finish... it was textbook, but didn’t have a knockout... something. I don’t know how to say it better. I loved drinking it, but there wasn’t something that took this wine over the top. My guess is that it needs a little time to develop. A little tight yet perhaps. I suggest letting this lie for a bit.

Fabulous rich dark black fruits. Boysenberry stands front and center. Licorice and spice coexists nicely. Well balanced big Napa red with tannins that are tamed by the Merlot nuance. This will only get better with time.

Needs time to open up. Had slight tannic flavor but overall was a good pairing with prime rib.
