Moone-Tsai Vineyards
Corinne Cuvée Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Ruby/purplish in color with medium intensity and a wide reddish rim.
Nice nose of red fruits with spices, light oak, licorice, chocolates, herbs, earth, light bell pepper and spices.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, red currants, peppercorn, dark chocolates, light earth and herbs.
Spicy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very tasty Pinot Noir from Santa Rita Hills in California. Elegant and fruit forward. Spicy and entertaining.
Well balanced with a nice mouthfeel, and heavier in style. A good quality wine that would be interesting to revisit in 3 years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.
Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Paired nicely with the French Brie cheese.
Pinot Noir grapes (30% whole Cluster) were aged in 50% French oak barrels for 16 months.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
90 points.
$120.

Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
It was my first time trying Moone-Tsai wines aside from their widely distributed Napa Valley Cab, so some of these were totally brand new to me. Melka is the winemaker.
Inaugural vintage for this wine. Fruit is coming from Petaluma Gap. This seems to have a Burgundian flair, but the fruit won’t allow it to go fully there. Fairly ripe black cherries, crunchy cranberries, underbrush, black tea and slightly green. Mellow on the palate with more tannin than acidity right now (which seems unique), and a definite dried floral, dried black fruit and herbal streak down the middle of the palate. Needs some time.

Fruit from Petaluma Gap that gets short spurts of heat. Usually pick 2 weeks after Carneros. 777 clone. 10% whole cluster. Spearmint, allspice, cola nuts, red and dark cherries. Finishes long. 60% new French oak with medium/medium+ toast.
