Moon Mountain Vineyard
Estate Grown Cabernet Franc
Nose has plum, ripe plum, (light) cedar, milk chocolate shavings and dried black cherry (Honestly, plum notes are incredibly dominant now.); This is a great aroma experience.
Palate has dried black cherry, ripe plum, dried garden soil, old dark chocolate bar, (minor) roasted green pepper with a short-ish finish. Really not improving with aging (Note to future self with a few bottles in the tank still...!).
Ok, so quite obvious here that I don't always review my notes. Last time (4Y ago) around I said drink all these by 2020... Yet still 5 (now 4) in waiting. (Drink up, or use for braising.)
Decanted 5H at the time of notes.

Decanting now, expecting a wonderful pairing with beef sirloin tonight.
A dusty, cedar cherry on the nose, that sure could be a fun fruit to encounter. The palate brings dusty black cherry, dark chocolate with some grippy tannins lingering, medium finish. The bottle is agreeably near the end of its prime; (5) bottles left in the cellar, should finish before 2020.

Aug 2nd, 2015Still plenty of fruit, deep and plush - as welcoming as a favorite velvet arm chair. Black cherry and cedar in the mouth, with polished tannins and a mellow and lingering fade. This is drinking so nicely now. Elegant as a Nite at the Opera.
