Miguel Torres
Grans Muralles Conca de Barbera Garnacha Blend
Big dark and tannic. This will live a long time.

Apr 1st, 2021Last night’s late decision to join the First Saturday share a bottle and food was a smart one. While there were a number of wines to taste, I only had time to try a few. My contribution was a garnacha from Catalina, Spain - the Familia Torres Grans Muralles. The 2016 Grans Muralles is a harmonious blend of garnacha, cariñena, and monastrell. Wishing I had more of that one because it was pretty spectacular.
Familia Torres is located in Conca de Barberà in the far northern inland sector of Tarragona and due west of Barcelona. The region is primarily known for Cabernet, the Torres family has been quietly planting indigenous grape varieties in the region.
