Superb tiny berry fruit intensity on a slab of stones. Superb mineral perfume. Beautiful mashed dark and light red flowers. Stunningly elegant and precise. Dizzying. I love Volnay. Palate is structured and so deep and initially a bit closed. Complex, stoney, sappy and superbly concentrated. Fruit is there but has a major mineral grip on it like so many 18 1er Crus at this early stage. Clean, compact and precise but really in need of 5 years. Now while 17 was wide open young this will not be. But what a wine. Amazing palate presence. Incredible fruit.
