Michael David Winery
Earthquake Lodi Petite Sirah
Full disclosure, I did enjoy this wine with some appallingly spicy yet delicious ramen. Whilst ‘twas a good pairing, in hindsight a blue/blackberry pie would have been more fitting. A classically bold petite sirah. Nothing you’d slap yo mama over but you’ll like it. If you don’t your just being a snob. Also, great label.

Rich color with rich flavors! Smooth fruit start with a nice dry finish. Great legs to it as well! Is from the Lodi appellation.

Jan 16th, 2017One of three in Michael Davids club shipment. Beautiful color, pears, smoke and chocolate. Drink with any dinner except fish. So mature tasting for a 2014...you'll never know it and you will impress who ever you serve. Just do it.

Oct 8th, 2016Go big or go home. @MichaelDavidWinery 2014 Earthquake Petite Sirah (SRP $26) is rich and concentrated; a weighty wine with firm, youthful tannins. Though substantial, it is well balanced. It is a wine to enjoy while sitting around a roaring fire pit on a cool fall evening. And it can easily stand up to hearty comfort foods. If you like them big, you will love this wine. As a matter of fact, I think you would be enamored with every selection in Michael David’s “Earth Quake” and “Inkblot” portfolio—especially the Tannat and Petit Verdot in the latter. I’m pairing this Petite Sirah with smoked baby back ribs slathered in a thick, flavorful sauce. #MichaelDavid #Earthquake #PetiteSirah #wine #winelover #winewriter #wineblogger #myvinespot #Lodi #LodiWine
