Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blueberries, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, mocha, tobacco, earth and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, dark chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, vegetables, green herbs and tobacco.
Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This Lodi Zinfandel is always enjoyable. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing mild complexity and a nice mouthfeel.
Drinking nicely now and not jammy any more, with a tangy ending.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up.
I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.

I liked it, but G did not. It's a bit too dry for her sweeter taste. At the $12 price point, it's a good California Zinfandel option.

Lovely dark deep red. More of a savory and vegetal nose then so many fruit flavor driven Zins. Fruit and jams are there in the palate. Hints of sugar and spice and everything nice as well. Tar and creosote also comes to mind. A pretty representative example of the way OVZ outta Lodi is made. If you like those, this is right up your alley. Me, I like em well enough. No complaints.
