Too dry and earthy for my taste, though it stood up to smoked gouda on rye toast.

Not bad for a $7 bottle from Trader Joe's. Smooth finish.

Plain Ruby in color.

On the nose strawberries, cherries, earth, light vanilla, coke, light licorice, light cloves, mint and peppercorn.

Light to medium bodied with medium acidity and a watery mouthfeel.

Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, blueberries, wood, licorice, leather, tobacco, alcohol, bitter vegetables, spices and peppercorn.

Short finish with medium tannins and raspberries.

A drinkable red wine from California. Very simple, drinkable by itself, and better with food. Not too offensive, but unbalanced and not really special.
Can be had right out of the bottle, and gets better as it opens up. Not one for aging.

I paired it with gorgeous weather and the sunset, which always makes it all better.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

Light red rim. Crisp and light blend. Really good with the peppery steak we had. Good on its own too.
