Clear ruby. Spicy tomato strawberry on the nose (red plum is a good descriptor) with nice leather-bound book developing in the glass. Acidic, smooth, just a brush of tannins. Juicy but not fruity, with that leather playing around the edges of the finish and almost some butteryness along with food. Great with a shrimp and cherry tomato pasta dish. I do wish it was less acidic, all else being equal, but hey--for a $10 wine to drink with food, this excels!
