Matthiasson
Yount Mill Vineyard Pinot Meunier
Napa Valley, California, USA
Wine was very tight and highly acidic on day one, kept in the fridge overnight and it opened you nicely with much more red fruit prevalent.

Apr 5th, 2021Half way between white and red; very dark rosé. Kool-aid. Could be the first still pure Pinot Munier I’ve ever tasted.

Quite nice. Lots of red fruit and acid, nice concentration despite its lightness (11.5 abv)

Mar 7th, 2020Much better on day 2 - on day 1, the overriding feeling is one of sourness. Definitely light on its feet and only 11.5%, but lacking a bit of depth. Obviously not poorly made given the producer, but I’d say it’s more interesting than good.

Jul 28th, 2025Better than I expected. Super interesting bottling from the good folks at Mathiasson. Only 11.7%. Quite light on its feet, with just a bit of fruit - more earth. Good acid. Surprisingly good pairing with a pork chop.

Park/pool wine. Clean. High acid. Lacks complexity. 11.5%. Natty early pick Napa juice is a novelty but this can’t touch Loire or Beaujolais for the price.
