A superlative balance of tart acidity (not expected in Zin) & super ripe, juicy fruit (expected): spiced black plum, Concord grape, black cherry, blackberry jam, pastille. May not be my favorite Zin nor my favorite Matthiasson, but very good (albeit atypical) examples of both. Medium body. Exactly what I want with chicken chili.

Quite a nice Zinfandel. Not a grape I have often, but making burgers seemed like the right occasion. Would like to try with 2 more years of age to smooth and even out a bit, get a bit of hot tannin on the finish. But still quite nice with lots of purple berries and good acidity that keeps it balanced.
