This 2017 Reserve Merlot is hands down the best Merlot wine I have ever had. The flavor is bright, packed with lots of fruit flavors, and remarkably smooth. Drinks like a very expensive bottle of wine .

At first swirl, the aroma is enticing. Then the deep cherry flavor with tannins fills your taste buds. It has underlying hints of licorice & black tea. Now....life is good. Incredible wine.

After having the pleasure of enjoying this wine with friends, I can understand why it is called Reserve. Complex blending of fruits and herbs brings out a beautiful richness in both color and taste. Highly recommended!

I typically am not a Merlot fan but Matthews has this one dialed in. 91% Merlot and 9% Cab Franc. It has a fruit forward nose but with this smoky scent on the edge of it. The flavor profile whe. It hits your mouth with a full, herbaceous, strawberries, plums and raspberries. Delicious!!
