Really big wine. Perfumed blackberry and licorice rolling out of the bottle. Good acidity on the front with blackberry, graphite, roasted character. Dense and powerful middle. Finishes with toasted cedar tannin and black pepper. I think quite honestly that this one was opened too soon, so the other will sit for a long while. I might have actually guessed this one was a Shiraz or Syrah if served blind. This has the structure and depth to last another 15 years. One of the most powerful and yet gorgeously balanced 2014s I've had to date.
