Special Bottling Rutherford Petit Verdot
I do love the recent trend towards varietal PV wines. “The Darkest Grape” can be a challenging project. This is no exception; it is a complex and thick Wine, with flavors of very ripe plums and high on the acidic bite, while maintaining a chewy tannic body. The area in which it cost points from me would be this extremely sour lingering finish, and by “lingering “ I mean precisely that 😼 My mouth feels soiled for some time after each sip.

Jul 29th, 2018A superlative expression of The Darkest Grape, this PV exhibits the best features of the varietal, bitter chocolate and dark coffee, with the signature dusty tannins of the Rutherford AVA. This is an excellent cocktail wine.
