2015 Corralillo WineMakers Blend is; 50% Syrah and the rest Cabernet Franc & Malbec.

On the nose, ruby dark cassis. Blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, dark cherries and some strawberries. Dark chocolate, light pepper, mocha, vanilla and beautiful dark, fresh floral and fields of violets.

The body is full. The palate shows full tannins that are chewy and rounded. Ruby dark cassis, blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, dark cherries, cherries and some strawberries. Dark chocolate, light pepper, mocha, vanilla, caramel, soft understated minerals and loamy clay soils, soft leather, some dry stems, beautiful round acidity and beautiful dark, fresh floral and fields of violets. Long, elegant, well balanced, rich finish.

Photos of; Matetic’s restaurant which is about 9km from their Viña. It’s also a great hotel we stayed. Our tasting at Matetic with Sofia’s full attention on our host Josefina describing the wine and the process of how it’s made. Stainless steel 225 or 300 liter barrels to ferment a portion of their Sauvignon Blanc to be blended with the other parts...some in used oak barrel & concrete egg. I’ve not seen these used anywhere else until visiting Chile. The vista as you drive up towards their property.
