Barbera is a bit of a workhorse grape in Piemonte, with its ripening and yielding ability. Although with legal yields set at 70hl/ha many wines do no justice the varietal, however when yields are kept in check it makes deliciously juicy and vibrant wines of substance • Blue fruited, plummy too, floral, underripe banana, dried brown spices and fennel seed. Juicy acid and a gentle picker of tannin. Nice mid palate weight but doesn't drive home the finish. Good drinking
