Oxidative, port-like nose and showing a deep but bright golden color with orange hues. Making a striking first impression of freshly baked apple pie, complete with brown sugar, cinnamon and clove accents. Honey, almond, hazelnut, orange marmalade notes emerging but with a sense of freshness and lift. Very dry on the palate with moderate alcohol and med + viscosity, not at all heavy. Lean and supple on the mid palate, the wine is showing good movement and texture with some tannic grip which no doubt is the result of a skin maceration that probably lasted 2 or 3 days. 70 % Grieco di Castel Venere/30 % Cerreto. Good luck remembering that. Surprisingly fresh and vibrant for an orange wine. Worth seeking out.
