This is a Primitivo di Manduria with 6 years on it. I should mention that I cut my wine teeth on Zinfandel (when I was a dapper young man...1994 vintage), so I know the grape.
After my customary request to drop the temperature by 5-10 degrees (these guys in Italy too often pull a wine off a shelf and pop n pour, guess I'm wimpy)... Anyways, after cooling and opening, this was great.
Color leaning towards pink/orange, a meat note on the nose, nice spicy black pepper mid-palate.
As expected low acid, mid tannin, and nice finish. Solid. More Primitivo coming soon to a Delectable post near you!!!
