A beautiful, delicate wine that is actually dominated both on the nose and palate by a strong flavor of flower petals - it actually took me back to my early childhood and the experience of stuffing tiger lilies in my mouth and crushing the soft petals against my tongue to taste the pungent, subtly bitter pollen dusting them. The peppery notes on the finish complement the lingering taste of flowers beautifully. This COULD do with just a bit more fruit, as it is extraordinarily dry, though not extremely tannic or woody. It's light-bodied, lively, and just a bit funky. Next time I might be inclined to seek out a warmer vintage than the 2010.

Dry violets and blueberries on the nose. Clouded; unfiltered. First, blueberries and dark fruits on the palate, then dry cedar and funk. Softly sandy textures. Rustic and wild; but dressed up for the ball!
