Excellent but still way too young wine from Mas de Chimeres. These could really so with 15-20 years to reach their peak though it's just now on it's way out of a dumb phase it's been in for 3-4 years.

Yes! Lightening up a bit but still a healthily dense son-of-a-bitch; nose loosening a little, with rich blackberry compote, dark cherries, and hints of anise and ripe strawberries; gloriously balanced tannin and acidity. I could drink this like water, by the gallon.

Tasted at the domaine. Not a huge fan of Nuit Grave this year but loved the Carminarem (score of 92 but picture missing). Tasted the current release of the latter as well as a barrel sample of the 2013. Both are excellent, well balanced, with good fruit, forward tannin an acidity. Will both age well for two decades. Nuit Grave was good but a bit dumb this year - will it open up?

Like how fresh this is showing but def comes off a little reduced. Looking fwd to tasting more recent vintages with the new guidelines for the region

I tend towards dichotomous labeling. I struggle: How can something be both light and dense? For the new year I’m going to focus on letting things be their complicated selves... so when you ask me: What’s good fam? I might say: a multiplicity! 1 <3

Amazing chilled red that is perfectly medium bodied, not too light or too heavy for a hot summer day. Paired well with pizza, pasta, and pork at Nota Bene. Exceptionally drinkable but still mature.
