Unusually dark, tarry, tannic and masculine for a Ch9dP. Probably reflecting the 30% Mourvedre in the blend.
Hints of iron, oxtailsoup, blackpudding, charcoal, dark spices and bitter chocolate. Although there are still a few blackberries and dates bobbing up and down in this brooding and rustic wine, I’d drink this within a few years time. At this moment, there still is enough freshness and vivacity too keep things enjoyable.
Impressive. And very nice.
