This is in a great spot. Gorgeous nose. Bright berry fruit and a hint of cassis. Clay and granite. Floral and has a really tremendous perfume. Mint and cocoa as well. Very complex. Palate is juicy, textured and bright. Very pure and lovely gravelly granite like texture and flavor. Berry fruit and gaminess on the finish. Lovely. Ripe and sweet tannins and excellent length. This has great concentration and freshness.

One of most unique, delicious and intriguing wines in the Northern Rhone. Stunning vintage for this wine. Nose of spice, granite, mineral, loam, game, meat, black fruit, potting soil and fresh flowers. Stunningly pure. Palate is just amazing. It’s like a reverse Côte Rotie (from Vienne) in that it’s like Côte Rotie in quality I’d say but the flavors, textures and structure are different. It’s less floral, more earthy and has more blackberry tang and different tannins. I love it and the quality is so high yet so unique. If you threw 10-15 more producers over there you’d have an appellation that would really complete with Côte-Rotie. So juicy, very deep, very earthy, intense concentration and power with black fruits, great freshness and amazing complexity. Lovely spice on the impressively building finish.
